Persons with disabilities leading resilient, inclusive climate action.
Climate change is not only an environmental challenge, it is also a matter of equity, dignity, and human rights.
Climate change doesn't affect everyone equally
Climate change affects entire communities, but its impacts are often greatest for persons with disabilities, who face barriers to information, emergency response, essential services, and participation in climate decision-making. Beyond physical and economic losses, climate disasters can undermine dignity, independence, mental wellbeing, and social inclusion.
At ANDY, we respond by placing disability inclusion at the centre of climate action. Through inclusive governance, disaster preparedness, environmental conservation, sustainable livelihoods, capacity strengthening, and community partnerships, we ensure that persons with disabilities are not only protected from climate risks, but empowered to lead resilient communities.

Six pathways to inclusive resilience
Inclusive Climate Governance
We strengthen the participation of persons with disabilities in climate leadership by supporting representation in decision-making structures, strengthening advocacy, and influencing more inclusive climate governance at community and county levels.
Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Resilience
We work with communities to strengthen disaster preparedness through accessible early warning systems, community resilience planning, and disability-inclusive emergency response mechanisms.
Environmental Conservation
Through reforestation, environmental education, school-based conservation initiatives, and nature-based solutions, we promote sustainable environmental management that benefits both people and the planet.
Climate Education & Capacity Strengthening
We equip persons with disabilities, government institutions, schools, caregivers, and community leaders with practical skills, accessible climate information, and the confidence to participate meaningfully in climate action.
Sustainable Livelihoods
We support climate-smart agriculture, enterprise development, financial literacy, and alternative livelihoods that enable persons with disabilities to adapt to changing conditions while improving their quality of life.
Community Engagement
Through schools, sports, creative arts, public awareness campaigns, community dialogues, and local partnerships, we inspire collective action while promoting inclusion, participation, and shared responsibility.
Creating change that lasts
Every programme we deliver strengthens more than climate resilience: it strengthens leadership, inclusion, and opportunity. Our work has contributed to stronger community preparedness, greater participation of persons with disabilities in climate governance, restored ecosystems, and sustainable, climate-resilient livelihoods.
Three projects carrying the work forward

Climate change continues to evolve, and so must the solutions we create. ANDY remains committed to advancing disability-inclusive climate action by working alongside communities, governments, development partners, and organisations of persons with disabilities to build systems that are resilient, equitable, and sustainable.
Because when persons with disabilities are included in shaping climate solutions, communities are not only better prepared. They are stronger, fairer, and more resilient for generations to come.
