Connecting the Dots

Inclusive participation in governance and livelihood promotion for Persons with Disabilities Project, is a project supported by UKAID under the Deepening Democracy Programme (DDP) that aims at effective engagement of Youths With Disabilities in governance processes and economic opportunities in Siaya County.

The project’s activities are focused on the 6 sub-counties in Siaya County.  The project seeks to avail data that it can leverage upon to engage youths with disabilities through Persons with Disability Groups (DPGs) for joint and coordinated advocacy efforts in the county.

The specific issues the project is focused on include increased access to information on policies and opportunities for youths with disabilities, empowerment of DPGs to participate and monitor county governance processes as well as capacity building for youths with disabilities on entrepreneurship.

ANDY is implementing the project and working closely with local DPGs, Youth with Disabilities, County government of Siaya, local communities and civil society organizations. Key elements of the project include the emphasis on evidence-based advocacy, collaboration, inclusion, and sustainability.
