Word from the program director
In 2017, ANDY has experienced tremendous success in ensuring that inclusion is felt all through the community and particularly at the level of the end user of our interventions. ANDY’s scholarship program whose main mandate is to ensure all out of school children attend school and transition to the next level reached its peak with the launch of ‘NikoEducatable’ a yearly initiative that compliments the Changing the Game program. This crowd funding initiative was launched in May 2017.
Being an election year, ANDY was actively involved in ensuring Persons with Disabilities understood their rights and the importance of their participating in the election process. This sensitization improved access to voting centers and some being elected to key positions at county levels to push the disability agenda for their constituents. This saw more involvements of Persons with Disabilities fully included in governance issues and as a result will ensure that socioeconomic, health, education and other crosscutting issues are improved.
ANDY is proud to be part of the community that continues to make a difference to its members of the community and looks forward to greater improvement to ensure the lives of Persons with disabilities; children and their parents of are included in decision making and live their full potential.
